At the end of the day, what really matters is that you are better able to play music which touches your heart. This music can come from anywhere.

The course aims to prepare you to play the music that you want to. Parts of the course are tough. However the lessons are designed so that each step follows a previous one.

Finally... If you want a Harmonica Academy T-Shirt, you can make one. Follow the link below for instructions

I've been looking at a lot of stuff in addition to this - web, harmonica tab books, etc. But I've been spending the majority of my time teaching myself songs I like by ear.

I've been a little lax about the coursework here recently, but plan to begin devoting some time daily so I keep progressing.

When I was a kid, I had the fear of Mrs. Johnston's wrath and her knuckle-busting pointer to keep me on track with piano lessons. Now it's just up to me I guess.

Welcome back...!

Seriously though, I would encourage everyone to look at a range of harmonica information sources, on the web and elsewhere, and combine the insights gained with the ones contained here.

I see Harmonica Academy being similar to a College. You show up at the start of the year, get a booklist, buy the books, then start. This is why I provide a shopping list at the start of each year, which outlines additional harmonica resources that I consider helpful.

I was going through the lessons. SOme were very tough. Irish fiddle and blugrass leave no room for error. Hard work. Drifted away and started doing some blues stuff on YOUTUBE and from books. Came back because I wanted to be more accurate and felt I needed the structure and regimentation. Let me say, the hard work here and the excellent structure pays off. This site's lessons, I have found, increase my speed and accuracy more than any other method. I still go to the other places, but for fun. Coming back to this site gives an interesting perspective on its value and, in particular, how well it is structured. The message to new members is to hang in. Play on other sites for fun but learn from here regularly.
