I'm thinking of joining but want to ask a few questions first.
What harmonica key is used the most on the site ?
What is the best place to buy Harmonicas online ?
and What is the best Harmonica for a beginner?
thanks
Rob

Hi Rob.
This is a great site. A lot of us have been here for years & have built up a great camaraderie. We all started out where you are but are all having a wonderful journey.
The key harmonica you need to start with is a C diatonic. The following are good choices for a beginner but are also very good harmonicas that will serve you as you progress:
Hohner Special 20
Hohner Golden Melody
Suzuki Bluesmaster
Suzuki Harpmaster
Lee Oskar Major Diatonic.
As you progress through the course there will be other key harps needed like D. A & G. But these can wait.
Depending on your location there are a number of online sites that will give good service. But, for just one mid priced harmonica you might be best served by buying from a local music store. But be careful to only buy one of the above. There are other very good harmonicas but a lot are not suitable for beginners.
Online stores that have a good name are Rocking Rons in the US and Mandoharp in Australia. There are many others.

Hi Rob,Looking forward to you joining us.
I fully agree with David, it's a great site.
As for buying Harmonicas, if you don't want to invest in more than one at the moment then the 'C' is the one. There is absolutely no hurry to buy anymore. I have been with the academy for 11 months and I only have a C and D(although I do have a couple of 'cheapies' in a couple of other keys, which were a waste of money). 95% of my playing and practising is on the 'C'.
'C' you on site soon.

Welcome!
I get my harmonicas online from Musician's Friend which has turned out to be a reliable US source.
