yea I made out a plan when I 1st started for 6 months i be though this course lol, then i changed it to a year,Now im like i have no idea;-),I havent even studied, anything new In last few months just been working on,adding embellishments to the tunes ive learned,All the tunes i learned playing with tight single notes, but here lately ive been trying to play them using dirty notes by bleeding in a side note or 2,It sounds cool to work them into a tune, have some mixed with the single notes,Its hard though for me at 1st cause im so used to playing clean single notes, but it does add to a tune, and im trying to get more hand effects in to my notes on the tunes, makes a fast celtic song kinda of bluesy;-) but Im having to retrain my muscle memory;-)

Tony, I've got one of your 32 years behind me. In 31 years I'll be 100. I wonder if I'll still be playing a harmonica by then ... or perhaps playing a different type of harp.
Pete.

I read somewhere that to be a music maestro it takes 10,000 hours of practice. That's over 27 years of 1 hour a day practicing 'stuff' ie scales and arpeggios etc.
Tony, you must be close to the mark, or have been having far too much fun?
For me it's enjoying what I'm at and also enjoying the journey. My expectations are not high other than to learn some (not every day) and have fun.

For the first 15 years I didn't practice much. However I was lucky enough to spend 6 years leading an excellent blues band.
Then I got on to bluegrass, around 1995. It soon became apparent that I would have to practice hard. So I did.
