Hi Guys!

I just renewed my subscription for the third time. Does that mean I'm becoming an old timer?

Good onya Christine. No you are not an old timer just a seasoned player.Like me a semi advanced intermediate beginner! Lots still to learn.

Incidentally I went to our Bluegrass meet last night & the guy who normally runs it was away on holidays. The guy left in charge was a good muso but the nights music, although great fun, was a bit of a shambles. I have lots of new tunes I have to learn.

Hi David!

How often is your Bluegrass jam held? Ours is once a month, in a local bookstore.

Christine our Jam is held on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday each month & runs from 7Pm to 10pm. Ours is held in a large room/hall attached to an opportunity shop behind a big church (Hillsong?). I think some of the group may be church members. The music is good and lively and there are no residences close by but amplification is not allowed.

I am the only harp player which is good as I get more than enough competition from the one fiddle player. There are lots of guitars, mandolins and numerous banjos plus a ukulele and a double bass. We make plenty of noise.

Christine> Our Bluegrass group all work from a book/ CD set called 'The Parking Lot Pickers Song Book'. It has over 300 tunes in it all with music & lyrics and different versions for Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin & Fiddle. It's a great book but they don't produce one for Harmonica & I need one!

Sounds perfect! A couple of times a month is enough to keep you out of trouble!

Christine :)

Maybe we should all keep out of the 'about' section and stick to the secure areas.

Hey guys, this idiot is probably laughing at the replies he's getting. The best way to get rid of him is to ignore it,don't comment on it,and pretend he's not there.
If we all do that then this post about the 'guest' should be the last one from our members..

Aha. Now I can see the spam. Fortunately this is the only part of the forum which is open, the rest is for members only.

Now. Let me try to delete the messages.

CHRISTINE GEORGENSON, I just noticed you name in the CHAUTAUQUA‘S SPECIAL STUDIES PROGRAM. Is this you? I cannot attend Chautaqua until late August so I will miss your class. Do you have a recommendation on a video or audio I could buy to help me get started? steve scyrus@visi.net
