Welcome, Les. I can't help you with the Melbourne jam sessions as I live in Washington State, near Seattle. This is a great place to learn and the forum participants are some really great about sharing and helping. Enjoy the journey.

Hi Les & welcome.

Sorry can't help with the Melbourne Blues scene but am sure if you google you may find one.

I know in Brisbane it has a tiny following of harp players & jams are held monthly. I have since discovered the Bluegrass scene which has a large following with any number of jams to choose from. If you have no success with blues jams you might like to check out the bluegrass jams. This link might provide some info:-

Hi Les!

David is right! Sometimes you have to go with what you have available if you want to play with others. Bluegrass ties in well with some of the Celtic tunes you will learn at the Harmonica Academy. Blue grass folk are great too!
But I understand, I love the blues too and just bluesy tunes in general.

Christine
